delciousness report, vol. I

|
No reason not to start today, right? Here's what's up on the top of my calendar:

  • 10/23: Best bang for my buck is the Notwist, at Neumo's. $15, 9:00 doors
  • 10/24: Opening night of "Awesome" at ACT. $15, 7:30 doors, 8:00 show. Week one: Seven Brides for Seven Band Members... hmmm.
  • 10/25: I've been graciously invited to join the Westenders on their 2nd annual "Great Ghost and Grub Hunt", which involves eating, haunted tours of Capitol Hill, card games, ghosts, and more eating. (Really, what's a late night ride without a stop at Dick's?)
The Westenders ride isn't open to the public, but I'll take a bunch of pictures. Promise.

Up and coming:

  • New "hi, I live here" shots, some from the back of a Stella, forthcoming; as well as a few from the Minus 5 show last Saturday.
  • The Craziest Week Here Yet(TM) is almost upon us, with at least one thing to go see every day starting on Monday.
  • Halloween weekend festivities, involving guest appearances by Sean Nelson, a funeral for indie rock, and drag queens (not necessarily in that order).
  • I just found out, through my calendar scouring prowess, that Elliott Brood is coming back to the Tractor in December. GUSH. Hands-down one of the best shows I've seen in a while, and I'm completely psyched to see them again.
Happy rOctober, indeed. I can't believe I live here. Still.
VIVA

Now playing on KEXP: "Wake up - are you wasted? No, I'm in love. Wake up, are you wasted? No, it's not love..." which just melted into "I was dancing in a lesbian bar." That is, actually, awesome.
Now playing on the Aloha Stereo: Long Winters - When I Pretend to Fall
Now playing on my headphones: The Kinks - some kind of greatest hits album / mix
Now playing in my wallet: A big, $600.00 sized hole where my almost-paid credit card used to be. Apparently all the driving across the country made my muffler fall off. Also awesome.
